The Electronic Computer Center, University of Baghdad, held a symposium tagged (Anti-Corruption Principles: The Responsibility of Transparency and Accountability).
The importance of enhancing transparency and strengthening the legal system of accountability as a means of combating corruption was highlighted, as transparency and accountability must be within everyone who makes an administrative, financial, or functional effort to combat corruption, and these two elements form the basis for ensuring the integrity of government and economic work.
In this context, the strengthening of systems and procedures that ensure transparency in all aspects of public life and the application of laws that guarantee accountability to anyone who violates these laws by agreeing to adopt policies that encourage transparency and impose strict penalties on violators is a crucial step in the fight against corruption and achieving sustainable development.
This symposium achieves one of the sustainable development goals represented by the sixteenth goal, which calls for peace, justice, and strong institutions.
