The Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit at the College of Science, University of Baghdad, held a guidance lecture entitled “The Importance of a Clean Environment and Sustainable Development”, in the presence of a number of third-stage students in the Department of Mathematics.

The lecture aimed to introduce the importance of sustainability shared by the environment and society, based on the quest to preserve the environment, which is a collective responsibility for a better future, by providing realistic examples for some countries in making the last Saturday of each month a day dedicated to cleanliness and consistent with the slogan (Plant our food and plant and eat).

The lecture included a statement of the importance of spreading cultural awareness towards a healthy environment among young people, especially college students, to preserve the environment and reduce pollution as much as possible, indicating the college’s endeavor out of its keenness to spread environmental awareness and achieve sustainable development goals, calling for sports events and the establishment of voluntary campaigns to spread the culture of cleanliness and a healthy environment, increase green spaces and reduce pollution and emissions that harm climate change.

This lecture achieves one of the sustainable development goals represented by the fifteenth and seventeenth titles, which call for life on earth as well as partnership to achieve the goals.
