The Department of Radio and Television at the College of Mass Communication at the University of Baghdad organized a scientific lecture on documentary filmmaking, in which Assistant Professor Dr. Haider Ahmed Alou Al-Qutbi, Head of the Department, lectured in the presence of students of the fourth stage, as part of the academic endeavors to enhance students’ practical skills.
During the lecture, Dr. Al-Qutbi discussed the concept of documentary film, its importance, and the stages of its production, starting from idea, research, and screenwriting to photography and editing.
He pointed out that “documentary films have become prominent in modern media, because of their ability to influence and deliver messages in innovative ways.”
“Documentary films are among the most powerful media tools in documenting societal events and phenomena,” al-Qutbi said.
At the end of the lecture, the students expressed their appreciation for this valuable educational opportunity, appreciating the efforts of the college professors in providing scientific and practical knowledge in modern ways, which contributes to qualifying them for the media labor market.
This lecture achieves one of the sustainable development goals represented by the fourth goal, which calls for quality education.
