The College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad organized a seminar entitled (How to Provide Care and Psychological Support for an Orphan Child) delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Amal Yousef Mohsen Al-Yasiri and in the presence of a number of college members.
The symposium aimed to provide comprehensive care for orphaned children, understand their psychological, physical, and material needs, build trust with them, and create a safe environment, and the symposium also included several axes, including understanding the needs of orphaned children, building trust, establishing good relations with them and cooperating with mental health specialists.
In conclusion, the symposium recommended cooperation with mental health specialists and the involvement of community resources in enhancing psychosocial support, through the provision of specialized consultations and awareness initiatives that contribute to improving mental health, which reflects positively on the quality of life, psychological and social stability, care and support are vital in promoting the growth and recovery of orphaned children, and helping them build a brighter future.
This symposium achieves one of the sustainable development goals represented by the fourth goal, which calls for quality education.
