The College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Baghdad participated in the cooking festival held by the College of Arts. The festival witnessed wide participation from various university formations and in the presence of Dr. Nada Al-Abedi, Head of the Women’s Affairs Department at the Ministry of Higher Education, and teacher Sinai Abboud, responsible for the Women’s Affairs Unit in the Presidency of the University of Baghdad, in addition to members of the Office of the President of the University of Baghdad and officials of the divisions and units of women’s affairs at the university.

The festival aimed to develop women’s skills in the art of cooking and encourage them to use healthy food and maintain the health of the body. The festival included the distribution of awareness posters on healthy food in addition to encouraging support for small projects to cook from home.

The participation of the College of Islamic Sciences in the festival was characterized by a special presentation of the most delicious foods prepared by the college’s affiliates, and this presentation was admired by the attendees, as they praised the high level of skills enjoyed by women in the college.

Women’s participation in various fields, including the field of cooking, is essential to achieving sustainable development, as women have tremendous energies and capabilities that can contribute to building a better society, and through their participation in various fields, women can contribute to achieving balance and justice in society and achieving comprehensive and sustainable development.

This festival achieves one of the sustainable development goals represented by the second, third and fifth goals, which call for ending hunger, achieving food security, promoting sustainable agriculture, as well as ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all ages and gender equality.
