The Rehabilitation, Employment, and Follow-up Unit at the College of Arts at the University of Baghdad organized a practical workshop entitled “Smart Prevention Proactive Steps to Reduce the Risk of Breast Cancer”, in which the assistant lecturer Esraa Ahmed Abdel Sattar, and the assistant lecturer Dalia Gamal Juma, lectured, in the presence of a number of professors, employees and students.

The workshop aimed to spread awareness of breast cancer and the importance of early detection, promote a culture of self-examination and periodic, clarify risk factors and methods of prevention, highlight the role of technology in prevention, and support and encourage women affected psychologically and socially.

The workshop dealt with the main axes, including the definition of breast cancer and the importance of awareness, risk factors and causes of infection, prevention strategies (early examination, healthy nutrition, avoiding harmful habits), the role of technology in early detection, success stories and motivation, and a discussion session and questions.

The workshop came out with important recommendations, including the need to adhere to periodic self-examination and medical examination, follow a healthy diet and exercise, avoid smoking and alcohol, use technology to monitor health, organize periodic events to spread awareness and enhance the role of media and health institutions in awareness.

This workshop achieves one of the sustainable development goals represented by the third goal, which calls for ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages.
