The College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad, Department of Water Resources Engineering, in collaboration with the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit and the Continuing Education Unit, organized a workshop titled “Artificial Intelligence: Pros and Cons for University Students.”

The workshop was led by a distinguished group of faculty members. Prof.Dr. Alaa Hassan Ne’ma discussed the applications of artificial intelligence in water resources, while Assistant Lecturer Zeina Kamel Rasheed highlighted AI’s role in enhancing students’ educational, administrative, and personal skills. Assistant Lecturers Hussein Fadel Hussein and Alaa Abdulhadi Abbas provided insights into AI advancements in scientific fields, particularly in water resources and surveying. Additionally, Assistant Lecturer Tayba Hussein Mez’al explored the psychological and health effects of AI on university students.

The workshop concluded with several key recommendations, most notably the need for continuous development and training in modern technologies, along with the importance of monitoring and controlling technology use to maintain a balance between benefits and risks.

This workshop aligns with the fourth Sustainable Development Goal (SDG), which advocates for quality education.
