The College of Medicine at the University of Baghdad organized an awareness workshop entitled “Green Education”, presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Farah Abdul Hussein and Assistant Professor Dr. Esraa Ali Hussein.
The workshop aimed to raise the level of collective awareness of the importance of green cover, which targeted the college’s employees, including lecturers, employees, and students.
The researchers reviewed the concept of green education and its tools for maintaining a sustainable environment by rationalizing energy consumption and using environmentally friendly materials. The workshop also discussed the role of women and how to enhance this role in achieving a sustainable environment.
This workshop comes within the framework of steps taken by the college and the university to reduce carbon emissions resulting from the use of harmful chemicals and the lack of green spaces, which greatly affect the health of the individual and society.
This workshop achieves one of the sustainable development goals represented by the fourth and fifteenth goals, which call for quality education as well as life on earth.
