The Higher Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies at the University of Baghdad held a workshop titled “How to Publish Research in Global Indexes (Scopus).” The session was delivered by Prof.Dr. Ali Abbas Kareem,a faculty member at the institute, under the supervision of Assist.Prof.Dr. Ali Mohammed Thujail Al-Mamouri,Dean of the Institute and a certified public accountant. The workshop was attended by students from the Financial Studies Department.
The workshop introduced students to academic publishing standards for global indexing databases, covering key aspects such as quality requirements, principles of rigorous scientific writing, and selection criteria for indexed journals in prestigious databases like Scopus and Web of Science. It also focused on enhancing students’ research writing skills, adhering to publication guidelines, citation requirements, and research ethics.
This initiative aligns with Goal 4 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which aims to ensure inclusive, equitable, and high-quality education while promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all.
