The Women’s Affairs Unit, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Science for Women at the University of Baghdad, organized a workshop entitled (Some Foundations of General Learning) presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Najat Baqir Mashkour.

The workshop aimed to recall the role of Islamic principles and the importance of the Holy Quran, which is an essential source of knowledge and education, as it includes many values and concepts that contribute to building the personality of the learner and guiding him in various aspects of life, and the Holy Quran represents the solid foundation on which teachers can rely in developing their educational methods and enhancing students’ understanding of both religious and scientific concepts.

The workshop emphasized one of the most prominent ethics related to the learning process, which is to stay away from slavery Obedience to God and commitment to His directives, orders, and prohibitions are an integral part of the learning process and contribute to building a good person. In addition to that, there must be continuous compatibility between the learner, the teacher, and the scientific content to ensure the effectiveness of the educational process, which is not only limited to communicating information but also to effectively integrate the content with the interests and needs of learners. The compatibility of these elements is one of the key elements that contribute to improving the education process. Among the aspects to consider are learning and memorization hours, which are particularly important in enhancing the assimilation of information and ensuring its ability to settle in the mind for long periods.

It also stressed the need to pay attention to the importance of a balance between all factors involved in the educational process, such as the level of the learner, the teacher’s methods, and the scientific content, as this balance contributes to improving the effectiveness of the memorization and comprehension process and ensures reaching high levels of understanding and academic achievement.

This workshop achieves one of the sustainable development goals represented by the fourth goal, which calls for quality education.
