A workshop entitled “Sustainability of Green Universities” was held at the General Secretariat of the Central Library, in cooperation with the Center for Continuing Education, presented by Assistant Professor Yasser Nouri Mohamed / Central Library and Assistant Lecturer Fatima Abdel Bari / Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance.

The workshop aimed to raise awareness of the importance of environmental sustainability in universities and encourage the adoption of sound environmental practices, which contributes to improving the international rankings of Arab universities and enhancing their role in sustainable development.

The workshop addressed the concept of green universities as a modern model that contributes to achieving sustainable development through a balance between economic and social growth and environmental protection and discussed the importance of integrating sustainability principles into various aspects of academic and research work and university life, which promotes environmentally friendly practices within educational institutions.

Among the most important themes discussed in the workshop are (what is a green university, where the concept of a green university comes from, what the objectives of the green university, what is the “green universities scale?” and how can our universities become environmentally friendly?

This workshop achieves one of the sustainable development goals represented by the fifteenth title, which calls for life on earth.
