The Aerospace Engineering Department , College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad organized a scientific visit for third-year students to the General Company for Air Navigation Services and Airport Management at Baghdad International Airport. This initiative is part of the department’s efforts to strengthen practical learning and connect students with real-world aviation operations.
The visit included an introductory lecture on the company’s divisions and their operational mechanisms, followed by a tour of the air traffic control tower. During the tour, students observed the critical role of air traffic controllers and the continuous coordination among various aviation entities to ensure the safety and efficiency of air operations. They also gained insights into the direct relationship between aerospace engineering and air navigation management, enriching their understanding of the technical and regulatory challenges in the aviation sector.
This visit aligns with the department’s commitment to providing students with a comprehensive educational experience that integrates theoretical knowledge with practical application. By enhancing their readiness for the job market, the program aims to prepare highly skilled engineers capable of keeping pace with advancements in aviation and air navigation services.
Additionally, this initiative supports Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) by promoting hands-on learning and professional exposure for students.
