The Continuing Education Unit at the College of Mass Communication , University of Baghdad, organized a workshop titled “Digital Drugs: Origins and Effects,” presented by Assist.Lecturer Yusra Hamza Ali, with the attendance of several faculty members and students from the college.

The event addressed the concept of digital drugs, a new form of addiction that relies on the effects of certain sound frequencies on the brain, leading to changes in the psychological and emotional state of the listeners.

The session also discussed the stages of the emergence of this phenomenon and its negative effects on mental and psychological health, particularly among youth and adolescents.

Assist.Lecturer Yusra emphasized the need to intensify awareness and media efforts to confront this type of addiction, stressing the role of media in highlighting the associated risks and enhancing public awareness of the dangers of this phenomenon.

At the end of the workshop, a discussion session was opened for the attendees, where opinions were exchanged on ways to curb the spread of digital drugs and the importance of early awareness to protect individuals from its negative impacts.
