The Department of German Language at the College of Languages, University of Baghdad, organized a symposium entitled “Analysis of Common Errors in Translated Texts.” The event was presented by Dr. Mohamed Ismail, Professor Bahaa Alwan, Professor Ali Hussein, Professor Jassem Omran, and Lecturer Abdul-Nasser Neama, with the attendance of several faculty members, staff, and students from the college.

The activity aimed to identify common errors found in various translation topics, which are often encountered by translators and students of the German language.

The speakers recommended focusing on enriching translation studies with scientific research that analyzes and identifies translation errors in all their forms, provides appropriate corrections, and suggests terms that are more acceptable to the target audience. They also emphasized the importance of developing and enhancing the understanding and perception of German language students towards texts before translating them, taking into account all linguistic, grammatical, and precise meanings from various perspectives.
