The College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Baghdad organized a workshop on “Campus Ethics,” attended by a distinguished group of professors and students. The workshop, led by Prof.Dr. Haider Zamil, aimed to raise awareness of the importance of adhering to campus ethics and to highlight the values and moral principles that university members should uphold.
Several key topics were discussed, including the ethics of the university student, which includes mutual respect between students and professors, commitment to honesty and academic integrity, preservation of university property, and dedication to academic excellence. The ethics of the university professor, which includes dedication in teaching, fairness and equality among students, encouragement of scientific research, and providing guidance and support to students, also addressed the ethics of dealing with others, which includes mutual respect among all employees at the university and avoiding any offensive or discriminatory behavior.
The workshop concluded with several recommendations, including integrating campus ethics into academic curricula, organizing regular awareness events on ethical conduct, and reinforcing the role of disciplinary committees to address violations effectively.
