The Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Prof.Dr. Suhail Najim Abdullah, received an academic delegation from the Turkish (YTB) Foundation to discuss opportunities for scientific cooperation and scholarships for the students of the university, as part of efforts to enhance educational relations between academic institutions in both countries.
During the meeting, which was attended by the Dean of the College of Languages at Baghdad University, Prof.Dr. Ali Adnan Meshoush, and the Director of the Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations, Prof.Dr. Enas Khalifa Al-Sharqi, both parties discussed mechanisms for providing scholarships to Iraqi students wishing to pursue further studies at Turkish universities. Additionally, they explored the potential for student and faculty exchanges, as well as collaborative research projects.
The Turkish delegation representatives praised the academic level of Baghdad University, emphasizing their commitment to strengthening scientific cooperation with Iraqi universities. In turn, Prof.Dr. Suhail Najim Abdullah, the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, expressed his appreciation for this initiative, highlighting its significance in providing distinguished educational opportunities for the university’s students and enhancing academic expertise.
At the conclusion of the visit, both sides agreed to continue coordination to establish practical mechanisms for these scholarships and expand the scope of scientific and cultural cooperation between University of Baghdad and Turkish universities.
It is worth mentioning that (YTB) is a Turkish government institution responsible for managing scholarship programs for international students. It offers the “Turkish Scholarships Program,” aimed at providing educational opportunities at Turkish universities for outstanding students from around the world.
