The Continuing Education Unit at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Women, University of Baghdad, successfully concluded the Foundational Course for Personal Trainers, aimed at equipping participants with essential theoretical and practical skills in the field of sports training.
The final day of the course featured three key sessions: First Session: Presented by Prof. Dr. Abeer Dakhel Al-Salimi, Head of the Individual Sports Department, covering low-calorie dietary programs, designing a healthy physical training course, structuring a nutrition plan, the Carrefour diet system, and dietary supplements. Second Session: Delivered by Dr. Saad Hussein, an orthopedic consultant, addressing sports injuries in Iraq, high-intensity injuries such as pubic bone injuries, and knee injuries. Third Session: Led by Captain Mustafa Salam, focusing on the principles of first aid, its importance, objectives, fundamental procedures, the role and responsibilities of a first aider, emergency response steps, key qualifications for first aiders, prioritization of care, initial assessment, and calling for medical assistance.
At the closing ceremony, Prof. Dr. Suhad Haseeb, Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, along with Prof. Dr. Abeer Al-Salimi, awarded certificates of participation to all attendees, recognizing their commitment to advancing their knowledge and practical skills in sports science. This course aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
