The Continuing Education Unit at the College of Mass Communication at the University of Baghdad organized a training workshop entitled “News Editing”, in the presence of professors, employees and students at the college, in which Prof. Dr. Shukria Kuz Al-Sarraj and Prof. Dr. Hussein Ali Nour lectured.
The workshop aimed to shed light on the basic themes of the art of news editing, the basic principles of journalistic writing, and the most important professional and ethical rules that should be adhered to in formulating news.
The workshop witnessed a remarkable presence of college professors, staff, and college students, who showed great interaction with the topics raised, through constructive discussions and questions that enriched the atmosphere of the workshop.
In her speech, Dr. Shukria stressed “the importance of the journalist having accurate editing skills that enhance the credibility of the news and contribute to delivering the media message objectively and professionally.”
Dr. Hussein stressed “the need to keep pace with modern technical developments in the field of media and the use of digital tools to support the process of editing and publishing news.”
This workshop is part of a series of activities and programs that the College of Mass Communication seeks to organize with the aim of enhancing the scientific and professional level of its students and affiliates, in line with the rapid developments in the field of media.
