The Continuing Education Unit at the Faculty of Arts organized a training workshop entitled “Foundations of Citation in Scientific Research”. The workshop was presented by: Assistant Lecturer Jamila Fares Abdel Wahed, in the presence of a number of teachers, staff, and students.
The workshop aimed to clarify the concept of scientific citation, its types, and objectives, in addition to its pivotal role in writing academic research, and the workshop dealt with the conditions that the researcher must adhere to when quoting texts from scientific sources, the nature of the quoted texts and their importance and impact on the quality of scientific research.
The workshop came out with a set of important recommendations such as commitment to scientific honesty in the transfer of quoted texts, taking into account the importance of quoted texts and their impact on the quality and structure of scientific research, and commitment to the academic percentage specified for citation within research as well as emphasizing the literal transfer of texts that cannot be interpreted or disposed of and highlighting the importance of scientific citation in strengthening the foundations of academic research and consolidating scientific honesty.
The workshop concluded with the interaction of the attendees, who praised the importance of the topic and its role in improving the quality of scientific research.
