The President of the University of Baghdad, Prof.Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, met with the President of the University of Tokyo, Professor Kyoko Hayashi, to discuss ways to enhance academic cooperation between the two institutions, with the goal of improving higher education and scientific research. The meeting took place at the University of Tokyo’s headquarters in the Japanese capital, Tokyo.
The discussion covered a range of mutual interests, such as exchanging academic expertise, establishing student and faculty exchange programs, and strengthening cooperation in joint research, particularly in fields such as technology, engineering, and natural sciences. The possibility of signing future memoranda of understanding to formalize the collaboration was also explored.
Prof.Dr.Ansaf emphasized the importance of this initiative in enhancing the university’s international presence, noting that collaboration with the University of Tokyo, one of the leading global institutions, will help develop the skills of Iraqi students and researchers and open new horizons for education and research.
In turn, the University of Tokyo welcomed the collaboration with the University of Baghdad and expressed its willingness to provide support in various areas to strengthen academic and cultural ties between the two countries.
