The Department of Media and Government Communication at the Presidency of the University of Baghdad, in collaboration with the Center for Continuing Education, organized a specialized workshop titled “Mobile Journalism”, with the participation of faculty members, media professionals, and those interested in the field of digital media.

The event, presented by Assistant Lecturer Samah Maki Kazem from the Department of Media and Government Communication, aimed to introduce participants to the skills of using smartphones to produce media content and edit news in a professional and efficient manner.

Key topics covered in the workshop included professional photography techniques using mobile phones, the fundamentals of video editing with specialized applications, and innovative strategies for digital news storytelling. Additionally, the workshop explored the role of mobile journalism in rapid field reporting and its importance in addressing the challenges posed by the digital era.

The presenter emphasized that the workshop was part of efforts to enhance journalists’ skills to keep pace with technological advancements in the media industry. She also recommended giving mobile journalism a greater role in media content production within the media departments and units affiliated with the university’s various divisions.
