During his visit to Japan, the President of the University of Baghdad, Prof.Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, held discussions with Japan’s JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) to enhance international cooperation in the fields of economic and social development through the provision of technical and training support.

Prof.Dr. Bahaa stated that the visit to the JICA headquarters is part of the university’s plan to establish partnerships with Japanese institutions and universities. The goal is to create scientific collaborations with leading Japanese universities and to benefit from their expertise in the soon-to-be-launched College of Artificial Intelligence at the University of Baghdad.

He added that the visit focused on topics aimed at strengthening academic cooperation between the two sides through the establishment of a “JICA Chair” in line with the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the University of Baghdad and JICA in 2023. This memorandum aims to support the university’s infrastructure through JICA’s projects in Iraq.
