The Department of Media and Government Communication at the Presidency of the University of Baghdad organized a training course entitled (Practical Applications for Writing the Art of Press Release) delivered by the Assistant Dean of the College of Media for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Shukria Kuz Al-Sarraj, in which the department’s members of journalists, media professionals and all those interested in writing news participated.
On its first day, the course aimed to refine the skills of participants in writing press news and provide them with the necessary tools to produce professional media content by integrating theoretical and practical aspects and emphasizing the importance of the media’s role in transmitting information and shaping public opinion.
The course covered a wide range of topics, including identifying the basic elements of the news, drafting attractive headlines, writing the introduction, body, and conclusion, using clear and direct language, and avoiding common mistakes in writing news.
Finally, the course included a range of practical applications that enriched the lecture, such as writing breaking news and conducting press interviews, which improved the participants’ skills in drafting headlines and writing comprehensive reports.
