In a distinguished academic gathering, Prof. Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, President of the University of Baghdad, held a meeting with several Japanese researchers to strengthen academic and scientific collaboration between Iraq and Japan. The discussions focused on enhancing research quality and fostering cultural exchange with global academic institutions.
The visit featured talks on potential joint research projects in areas such as technology, sustainable energy, and engineering. Both sides also discussed opportunities for student and faculty exchange programs to deepen collaboration.
Prof. Dr. Ansaf also met with prominent Japanese researchers collaborating with the University of Baghdad, including Prof. Eiji Oguma, a sociology professor at Keio University; Prof. Kaoru Yamamoto, an Arabic literature professor at Keio University; Prof. Keiko Sakai, a contemporary Iraq studies professor at Chiba University; and Prof. Daisuke Higashi, a peace studies professor at Sophia University.
The Japanese researchers expressed their appreciation for the academic excellence of the University of Baghdad and their willingness to support joint research and projects beneficial to both parties. They also showed particular interest in advancing studies related to environmental and renewable energy challenges in Iraq.
