The College of Pharmacy, Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit, organized an online awareness workshop titled “Drugs and Their Societal Risks: Causes, Motivations, and Prevention.” The workshop was delivered by Assist.Prof.Dr. Fadia Yaqoub Kazem, a faculty member of the Clinical Pharmacy Department, under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Assist.Prof.Dr. Sarmad Hashem Al-Khatib.

The event aimed to educate participants about the causes of drug abuse, providing a detailed analysis of these causes and explaining the consequences of drug abuse on individuals and families, which are the cornerstone of society, and its broader impact on the community as a whole.

Additionally, the activity explored the motivations behind drug use and outlined effective and practical methods to combat this societal scourge. These methods include increasing awareness campaigns in schools, leveraging media platforms, and enhancing monitoring and regulation efforts to curb the rising prevalence of drug abuse.
