Prof. Dr. Firas Thamer, a teacher at the Center for Urban and Regional Planning for Graduate Studies, was honored with the University of Baghdad Award for Excellence in a central ceremony held at the College of Medicine, with a group of teachers who have achieved distinguished scientific achievements by publishing original research in scientific journals classified within the (Scopus Q1) Repositories , which is one of the scientific containers with international ranking.

Dr. Thamer stressed that the publication of sober scientific research is in support of the educational process and reflects the products of our university to keep pace with the world and develop its knowledge structure and lead to building a new generation armed with modern sciences and a unique competitor to its peers.

The President of the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, praised these important scientific achievements, stressing that this ceremony reflects the continuous efforts made by the university in supporting scientific research and enhancing the quality of education, pointing out that this success is the fruit of the concerted efforts of the academic and administrative staff, who worked hard to achieve this qualitative leap in international ranking.
