The Arabic Language Safety Unit at the College of Mass Communication, University of Baghdad, organized a scientific seminar to celebrate “Day of the Arabic Letter” on December 18th, which is dedicated to highlighting the significance of the Arabic language. The event saw the participation of professors and students from various departments of the college.
The Symposium included several research papers, including one presented by Assist.Prof.Dr. Nebras Hussein titled “The Language of the Spirit of the Age,” and another by Assist.Lecturer Lubna Hassan, who discussed “December 18th: A Global Day to Highlight the Beauty of the Arabic Language and Its Civilizational Role.” Dr. Samah Abdul-Hussein also presented a research paper titled “In the Language of Al-Dhad.”
Additionally, a collaborative research paper between Dr. Samah and Assist.Lecturer Rawa Zaher was presented, entitled “The Importance of the Arabic Language and Its Role in Official Institutions of Continuing Education.” Finally, Abeer Suleiman Atiya presented a paper titled “The Role of the Arabic Language in Keeping Up with Human Civilization.”
The seminar concluded with an emphasis on the importance of enhancing the status of the Arabic language and preserving it as a foundational element of cultural and civilizational identity.
