The College of Administration and Economics, through the Continuing Education Unit in collaboration with the Department of Business Administration, organized a workshop titled “Foresight for Development’s Future: A Objective Vision for Skills and Capacities.” The workshop was delivered by Assist.Prof.Dr. Nada Ismail Jibouri and Assist.Prof. Amira Shakir Wli from the Department of Business Administration.
The event aimed to focus on the human potential and abilities of youth, emphasizing how to develop these starting from the top of the success pyramid, which lies in self-actualization. This is defined as the degree of alignment between the self-image, the way an individual sees themselves, and the ideal image, which represents how people want to be seen.
The workshop concluded with several recommendations, the most important of which include the need to develop skills to enter the future through the correct investment in human intellectual capacities via active learning. It emphasized the importance of training, as it is the key to improving performance, enhancing knowledge and understanding, strengthening capabilities, and acquiring specific skills. The application of knowledge was also stressed, as it is impossible to make a difference by relying solely on education. The workshop highlighted the need to raise productivity and effectiveness in work, noting that the goal of training is to convey information or knowledge, and through practice, it is refined to transform into expertise, changing convictions and behavior. Lastly, the workshop encouraged reducing the gap between reality and what studies have concluded, stressing the importance of planning for progress that should not remain just ink on paper.
