The University of Baghdad secured first place in the 13th round of the second edition of the Iraqi Universities Debate Championship, organized by the International Academy for Leadership and Development (IALD) at Al-Mamon University College in collaboration with the Department of Studies, Planning, and Follow-up at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The event featured a competition between six universities from the capital’s provinces: the University of Baghdad, Al-Mamon University College, Karkh University, Tigris University, Al-Bayan University, and Al-Nusour University. The championship was marked by the attendance of several deans and department heads, along with the President of the International Academy for Leadership and Development.
The University of Baghdad advanced to the next stage thanks to the outstanding performance of its team, which demonstrated high-level debate skills and succeeded in convincing the audience and judging panels. The event reflected the spirit of constructive dialogue and creative scientific thinking, amidst strong competition that showcased the students’ abilities in dialogue and critical thinking.
Attendees praised the high level of organization and the efforts made to enhance students’ thinking and dialogue skills, highlighting the importance of such events in refining students’ abilities and empowering them to achieve academic excellence.
For its part, the Presidency of the University of Baghdad congratulated its student participants on this significant achievement and wished them continued success, as well as success to all participating universities in the upcoming rounds of the championship.
