The Department of Life Sciences at the College of Science for Women, University of Baghdad, organized a workshop titled “Drugs: Types, Risks, and Laboratory Detection Methods.” The event was attended by students from various disciplines and included open discussions to exchange views on the importance of awareness and the role of universities in combating drug-related issues.
The activity aimed to raise awareness among students about the health and social risks associated with drug abuse. Key topics addressed in the workshop included: Types of Drugs: Natural and synthetic drugs and their negative effects on individuals and society. Prevention and Treatment: Strategies for prevention and rehabilitation, with a focus on the importance of early intervention. Laboratory Detection Methods: Advanced techniques such as urine, blood, and hair tests were discussed, along with explanations of testing mechanisms and their role in early detection of drug use.
The event emphasized the significance of preventive measures, effective treatment strategies, and the role of modern laboratory techniques in addressing drug-related challenges.
