The College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Baghdad participated in the Sixth Scientific Conference of the Heritage Revival Center, titled “The History of Science Among Arabs,” by presenting a paper titled “Sustainable Islamic Development and Its Impact on the Preservation of Monuments” by Assist. Prof. Hanaa Mohammed Hussein Ahmed. In her research, she highlighted the importance of integrating Islamic heritage with the latest concepts of sustainable development to preserve monuments as a vital part of our cultural identity.
Assist. Prof. Hanaa emphasized in her research that development in Islam aims to cultivate and preserve the earth, and that monuments, as witnesses to successive civilizations, deserve special care and protection. She also pointed out that preserving monuments is not only a cultural duty but also an adherence to the objectives of Islamic law in preserving the environment and its natural and man-made resources.
