The College of Education for Girls, Department of History, held a scientific workshop tagged: (Suleiman Abu Leila and his role in the unification of modern Iraq) and lectured by Professor Anwar Nasser Hassan and Assistant Professor Iman Abdullah Hammoud.
The scientific workshop aims to identify the personality of Suleiman Abu Leila, who is one of the most prominent figures who contributed to the unification of modern Iraq within the structure of the Ottoman Empire, and review the achievements he has made, including administrative and military reforms, as well as the unification of separate areas in Iraq under one rule, including Baghdad, Basra, and Kirkuk.
The scientific workshop reached a set of recommendations, the most important of which is working to clarify his work, which witnessed development in building a strong administration in Baghdad and elsewhere, and conducting scientific workshops showing how his reforms in the Ottoman army contributed to establishing security and stability in the areas he unified and showing how he strengthened relations between local clans and notables in establishing alliances to eliminate rebellions and maintain balance in the Ottoman Empire.
