A scientific symposium was held at the College of Education Ibn Rushd for Human Sciences at the University of Baghdad on (the dangers of mobile phone addiction on mental health) delivered by Assistant Professor Duha Abdul Sahib Abdul Hussein Al-Shamma.
The seminar aimed to show what mobile phone addiction causes serious mental health problems, and teenagers are more likely to become addicted to mobile phones than any other age group.
The lecture indicated that the severity of addiction to mobile phones makes these young people troubled and anxious and must moderate the use of mobile phones to spend important things to communicate with family and friends and determine the appropriate time to use the phone in proportion to vital activities and tasks required.
The symposium resulted in results, including: controlling the use of social media and benefiting from it to serve the family and society more broadly, analyzing the information obtained from the Internet concerning documented scientific sources, as well as taking note of all the advantages and benefits from the technological development of mobile phones while taking caution and avoiding exposure to risks and harm from addiction and misbehaving.
