The College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Baghdad organized a special event to celebrate Arabic Language Day. During the event, the Dean of the College, Prof.Dr. Ni’ma Dahesh Farhan, emphasized the importance of the Arabic language and its central role in uniting society, enhancing national identity, and encouraged students to use their mother tongue with awareness and responsibility. He urged them to employ it in the service of society and to avoid any usage that could harm others. A delegation from the Shiite Endowment also attended the event.

In turn, Dr. Bilal Najm Abdul-Khaliq, Head of the Department of Arabic Language, affirmed the unique linguistic and cultural characteristics of Arabic, pointing out its prominent position in the Qur’an.

The event featured a unique theatrical performance centered around a satirical mock trial between Arabic speakers from various Iraqi provinces, aimed at highlighting the unity of the Arabic language and transcending dialectal differences. At the conclusion of the ceremony, outstanding professors in the field of Arabic language instruction were honored, and an exhibition of books and artworks expressing love and appreciation for the Arabic language was held.
