The Dean of the College of Mass Communication at the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Ammar Taher Muhammad, met with the students of the first stage in a special welcome meeting on the occasion of the start of the new academic year. He expressed his “happiness that the new students joined the college family, stressing the importance of commitment and diligence to achieve scientific excellence.”

The meeting was attended by the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Shukria Kookz Al-Sarraj, and the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Talib Abdul Majeed, in addition to the heads of departments. In their speeches, they stressed the importance of students’ role in enhancing the college’s status and called on them to take advantage of the available capabilities to develop their media and academic skills.

During the meeting, the Dean of the College stressed a set of basic values that students must have, including maintaining the cleanliness of the college, cooperating with their colleagues, respecting university regulations and laws, and giving advice related to general behavior on campus, most notably refraining from smoking, adhering to study deadlines, and maintaining a healthy academic environment that reflects the spirit of cooperation and discipline.

At the end of the meeting, the students expressed their gratitude for the warm reception, pledging to abide by the directives of the Deanship and contribute to raising the name of the college as one of the most prominent media colleges in Iraq.
