The Center for the Revival of Arab Scientific Heritage at the University of Baghdad organized a workshop on raising awareness of the dangers of drugs and avoiding them on (the impact of social awareness in protecting young people from drugs). The lecture was given by Eng. Zainab Khalid Mohammed.
Zainab talked about the role of the family in educating its children about the dangers of drugs by raising them to properly build healthy values and habits, monitoring their friends and the surrounding environment outside the family, as well as providing them with a normal environment suitable for them and focusing on strengthening the role of the family and informing them of the most important problems and their participation in finding appropriate solutions, so that children feel that they have an entity and importance, which avoids them resorting to any party outside the family and makes them able to face the risk of problems they are exposed to.
The researcher also added about the role of schools and universities in protecting their members from the danger of drugs through the establishment of seminars and educational workshops, as well as recreational and scientific activities that occupy the time of young people and show the magnitude of the risks to which drug addicts are exposed and thus protect them from this scourge.
