Ibn Sina E-Learning Center organized a workshop entitled “Drug Dangers: Prevention and Awareness to Build a Society Free of Addiction”.
The workshop aims to enhance community awareness of the dangers of drug addiction and highlight the health, social and economic damages it causes, as well as review methods of prevention and combating this phenomenon to ensure building a healthy society.
In the workshop, the researchers explained the concept of drugs and the relationship between the spread of addiction and ignorance, accompanying bad companions and other reasons, with a focus on the role of the family and proper upbringing in the prevention of this phenomenon. They also discussed the types of drugs and their negative effects on the individual and society, while providing global statistics showing the increase in this problem, especially among young people.
At the end of the workshop, the researchers called for the need to strengthen the role of community awareness and cooperation between educational, health, and social institutions to address the problem of addiction, while stressing the importance of family dialogue and positive monitoring to protect young people from engaging in this scourge.
