The College of Engineering, Women’s Affairs Unit, in cooperation with the Department of Architecture, the Center for Strategic and International Studies, and the Department of Construction and Projects at the University Presidency, held a scientific symposium entitled (The Uniform and its Role in University Education) within the framework of efforts to enhance academic and social awareness among students at the College of Engineering.

The seminar aimed to introduce the importance of the uniform in the university educational environment and encourage male and female students to wear the uniform by introducing its importance, revealing the most prominent challenges facing the uniform, and proposing solutions and recommendations to activate the restoration of wearing the uniform in university studies.

The seminar included a number of themes that dealt with the aesthetic advantages of uniforms and presented how to enhance the culture of uniform, sense of belonging, university identity and its impact on discipline, focus, cultural considerations, personal freedom, and the most prominent challenges faced by the uniform law.

The seminar recommended the importance of continuing to remind students and follow them up on wearing uniforms on all days of the academic year and holding a competition to design uniforms for students at the University of Baghdad under the supervision of a committee from the Women’s Affairs Unit in the university presidency.
