The Criminal Law Branch at the College of Law, University of Baghdad, held a scientific symposium entitled (The Role of Society in Addressing Drug Crimes), delivered by the lecturer in the Criminal Law Branch (Prof. Dr. Kazem Abdullah Haisin).

The seminar aimed to highlight the essential role of society in contributing to the relevant authorities and agencies in addressing the abuse and trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.

First: Emphasizing the role of society in effectively addressing the crimes of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances through the formation of a virtuous public opinion against these crimes, emphasizing the control of border crossings and tightening control over them in accordance with the relevant laws, and activating the role of the media, educational institutions and other government institutions in educating about the dangers of these crimes and their negative effects on individuals (psychological and health aspect) and society as a whole (economic, educational and cultural aspect).
