The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Baghdad held a lecture entitled (Drugs, their effects, and dangers) delivered by the head of the development unit in the Division of Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance at the Educational and Psychological Research Center, assistant teacher Ali Jaber.

The lecture aimed to define the title “Drugs: their effects and risks” and the extent of their impact on human mental health. It also taught children how to deal with psychological stress and frustration and developed their interests in positive activities such as sports, drawing, programming, and others.

The lecture introduced the attendees to the importance of psychological counseling and educational guidance. It highlighted the most prominent services provided by the unit within the college and the importance of these services in supporting students academically and psychologically.

The lecturer pointed out the most important serious harms caused by drugs at the individual and community levels, and ways to prevent them. These activities come within the framework of the guidance week through which the college seeks to enhance psychological and social awareness among students, which contributes to building a healthy and supportive educational environment.
