The College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Women, University of Baghdad, Organizes a Scientific Workshop on “Leadership and Its Role in Empowering Youth, Promoting Participation in Decision-Making, and Addressing the Advantages and Challenges of Collaborative Leadership”
The Rehabilitation, Employment, and Follow-Up Unit at the College organized a scientific workshop delivered by a distinguished group of faculty members from the Departments of Theoretical Sciences and Team Sports, including Prof. Dr. Sundus Mousa Jawad, Prof. Dr. Warda Ali Abbas, Assist.Prof. Dr. Nibal Kareem, and Lecturer Saja Shukr Yass. The workshop focused on several key aspects of youth leadership, emphasizing its role in enhancing individual skills and fostering initiative. It explored ways to cultivate leadership among young people by developing skills, boosting self-confidence, building relationships, learning from experiences, and making a positive impact.
The speakers highlighted the essential qualities of a successful leader, such as balance, resilience, and the ability to engage youth actively in decision-making. This includes encouraging communication and dialogue, offering training and education, and establishing platforms such as forums, workshops, and advisory councils to facilitate direct interaction and experience sharing.
Additionally, the workshop stressed the importance of collaboration between governmental and non-governmental organizations to enhance youth participation, as well as the benefits of community involvement, including active listening, forming friendships, learning organizational leadership, and advancing academically and professionally.
