The Rehabilitation and Employment Unit at the College of Arts, University of Baghdad, organized an educational scientific symposium titled “Fighting Extremist Ideas and Movements,” which was presented by Dr. Zahra Yusuf Ismail, in the presence of several faculty members.

The event aimed to discuss the dangers of extremism in all its forms, highlighting the high proportion of young people involved in such movements. Extremism was described as a contagious disease. The seminar also addressed ways to deal with it and how to confront extremist ideologies.

In conclusion, the seminar recommended activating the role of religion by promoting moderate religious culture and raising awareness about the dangers of extremism. It also emphasized strengthening the role of the family and society in combating and preventing extremism through raising generations on moral values and good citizenship. Additionally, it underscored the role of the government and media in raising awareness about the dangers of extremism, as it requires joint efforts to build a more peaceful and tolerant society.
