The College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Baghdad organized a specialized workshop on “Iraqi legislation and laws related to narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances”, and in the presence of researchers, academics, and those interested in combating this social scourge. This comes within the framework of the celebration of the Iraqi Week to Combat Drugs.

The workshop reviewed the latest legislative and legal developments in the field of drug control in Iraq with a focus on aspects related to prevention, treatment, and punishment. The workshop addressed a wide range of topics, including current Iraqi legislation, legal challenges, social dimensions, health dimensions, and the importance of treatment and rehabilitation programs.

In conclusion, the workshop stressed the importance of such events in raising community awareness of the dangers of drugs and enhancing cooperation between the various concerned authorities to combat this phenomenon, as well as the need to keep pace with global developments in this field and develop Iraqi legislation in line with these developments.
