The College of Medicine at the University of Baghdad organized a microbiology workshop on antimicrobial resistance in Iraq. The workshop addressed the current challenges and future prospects of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in Iraq, with the participation of a group of experts specialized in microbiology and public health.

The workshop focused on studying the spread of new pathogens, analyzing the factors contributing to antibiotic resistance, as well as reviewing effective solutions to address them.

The workshop included interactive training sessions on molecular epidemiology techniques. The aim was to track antibiotic resistance and assess its effects on public health. The necessary policies to promote the rational use of antibiotics were also discussed, as were effective interventions to reduce the impact of antimicrobial resistance.

The workshop targeted healthcare workers and graduate students to enable them to deal with these growing challenges in scientific and practical ways.
