The Continuing Education Unit at the College of Mass Communication at the University of Baghdad organized a workshop entitled “Digital Security and Protection of Individuals’ Data”, in which Dr. Ali Muhannad Hamid lectured as part of its efforts to enhance digital awareness and keep pace with technological developments, in the presence of a number of college students and employees.

The workshop dealt with multiple axes, most notably the definition of digital security concepts, how to protect personal accounts online, secure password management, and methods of countering electronic fraud and cyberattacks. Dr. Ali stressed the need to enhance awareness of digital security among individuals, especially with the increasing reliance on technology in daily life, noting that “the lack of digital awareness makes personal data vulnerable to hacking.”

The workshop witnessed great interaction from the attendees, where many questions were asked related to the challenges facing individuals and institutions in protecting their digital data, and ways to deal with security threats practically and effectively.
