The Continuing Education Unit, in cooperation with the Student Activities Division at the College of Arts at the University of Baghdad, organized a training workshop entitled: “The Role of Media in Educating University Students to Participate in Volunteer Work and Sports and Artistic Activities” in which the assistant lecturer Alahn Rashid Munit lectured, in the presence of a number of professors and employees.
The workshop aimed to demonstrate the role of the media and its importance in raising awareness of participation in volunteer work, sports, and artistic activities, and to clarify the concept and types of student activities and the importance of university media in increasing students’ desire to participate in extracurricular university activities.
The workshop, which hosted Prof. Dr. Salima Abdullah Alwan, and teacher Dr. Ghofran Karim Mashfi from the Student Activities Division, witnessed discussions between the attending professors about the importance of the media in urging student activities and spreading the culture of participation within the university institution.
In conclusion, the workshop recommended the development of media programs in support of student activities, enhancing cooperation between the university administration and students, as well as continuous evaluation of student activities and counting the participation and interaction rates of students, professors, and employees.
