The Department of Mathematics, in cooperation with the Rehabilitation and Employment Unit at the College of Science at the University of Baghdad, organized a workshop tagged “The future of work for graduates of the Department of Mathematics between reality and ambition” in the presence of a number of students in the department.
The workshop aimed to find a real ground for the principle of balance between the outputs of the Department of Mathematics Sciences and the labor market through training and qualification, which represents one of the main pillars of achieving a balance between the outputs of education and the labor market, which contributes to creating a generation of graduates ready and able to work in business sector institutions, as well as achieving a balance between the outputs of the Department of Mathematics Sciences and the labor market by focusing on training and qualification, developing new programs, and activating cooperation between various sectors.
The workshop included an introductory overview to identify the reality of the current labor market in the public and private sectors and the balance between academic qualifications and skills required in the labor market, as well as the most important requirements to be prepared for graduates of this department, and the need to find job opportunities and involve them in the public and private sectors, to benefit from this specialization in human resources, teaching, financial and administrative services, statistics, management, computer science, scientific consultations, analytical and organizational skills, energy and military fields.
