The Scientific Affairs Unit at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Women, University of Baghdad, held a scientific symposium entitled (Methods of Developing Self-Mute for Novice Shooters), which was presented by the teacher in the individual games branch, Eng. Doaa Hussein Ali.

The teacher showed the concept of self-muffling, as it is considered one of the basic elements in the Olympic shooting sport, whether using the air rifle or the air pistol, and breathing control, including muffling it for a short time during shooting, plays a crucial role in achieving the highest levels of accuracy, and its importance lies in reducing body movement, avoiding the effect of heartbeat, enhancing mental focus, harmony between self-control and trigger movement, providing a stable time for shooting.

The teacher provided a set of general tips for beginners, the most important of which is to be patient, because the development of breathing control requires regular time and practice, training in a comfortable environment away from stress or excessive pressure, gradually increasing the duration of training to avoid fatigue, making sure that the entire body is relaxed while muffling to avoid muscle tension.

The teacher in the individual games branch confirmed that beginners can gradually improve self-muffling, which helps them build the necessary foundation to achieve stability and accuracy in the sport of shooting.

This symposium achieves one of the sustainable development goals represented by the fourth goal of quality education.
