The College of Arts, in cooperation with the Department of Scientific Care, organized the Reading Festival (Empowering Reading) which was presented by the volunteer communicative English language teaching team.
The festival included a variety of cultural and scientific activities and many readings, and in an opening speech by the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ali Abboud Al-Muhammadawi, he stressed the need for reading and its role in our academic and practical life and limiting its transformation into mere images and appearances and losing its essential importance in seeking knowledge.
The recommendations of the Reading Festival included encouraging activities and events that emphasize the importance of reading, dialogue, and knowledge, and supporting students who wish to organize activities and events concerned with reading and training on it and organizing an annual or quarterly conference or festival dedicated to reading and motivating professors and students to join as well as investing such events and activities for voluntary and charitable work to activate the role of reading in practical and human life and achieve sustainability depending on young students and their role in training oneself and others. The festival concluded with a scientific, literary, and historical competition.
