The Unified National Conference of Arab and Iraqi Universities was held in its second session, under the slogan (Investment in scientific research and its role in economic development), in the presence of the President of the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, the representative of His Excellency the Prime Minister, Dr. Bashar Al-Saadi, the Chairman of the Council of Deans of Dentistry in Iraq and the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Prof. Dr. Raghad Al-Hashemi, and in the presence of a group of academics and researchers from various Arab and foreign countries.

The conference aimed to review the latest innovations in the field of dentistry and apply them locally to improve the quality of education and scientific research, which contributes to the formation of an academic community facing global challenges, as well as focusing on the importance of the knowledge economy as a key focus for sustainable growth, inspired by the education strategy launched by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in line with the sustainable development goals.

in his speech, The President of the University of Baghdad stressed the need for the state to use successful education, as the education process is linked to the advancement and scientific development and upgrading of the services provided by the university to students and state institutions, explaining that holding such a conference in Iraq is a great success for the college and the university to address the challenges faced by humanity such as the emergence of epidemics and changes that occur in technology and their impact on human life, which requires specialists in the field of medicine to develop their practices that suit the needs of the current reality.

For his part, the Dean of the College of Dentistry reviewed in his speech the achievements of the college for previous years, indicating that it has made exceptional achievements in international rankings, as it was able to achieve an advanced position within the Shanghai Ranking from 200 to 300 in 2023, and this reflects its commitment to quality and innovation standards and its qualitative achievement by obtaining full national accreditation, and joining the European Dental Association.

This conference reflects the commitment of the University of Baghdad and the College of Dentistry to the standards of quality and academic excellence while promoting innovation and scientific research as a key driver for economic and social development and improving the level of education in the dental sector.
